Goosebumps!

What this blog's about!

The idea of this blog, is to share and discover new music that has the ability to raise the tiny hairs on your skin and give you goosebumps. As you may have already gathered, I am a massive music fan and it gives me an exhilarating safe high. Music has the ability to alter my mood, change my thought patterns, inspire me and enhance my emotions.
Hindu's believe our universe was created by a sound that repeatedly vibrated to form patterns and eventually form all that has ever existed. Music is apart of us like blood runs through our veins, we need music as much as we need blood circulating round our body. Without it, we wither and die.

The feeling I get when I listen to a brilliantly composed piece of music makes me feel alive. I can feel my heart beating, my body rhythmically tuned to the beat. My mind levitates with the feeling of my lungs filling with crisp light air. A warmth comes over me like a gentle, exotic sea breeze. And when I open my eyes after the incredible solo, I feel like I have just made love to the most beautiful woman in the world.

The Power of Love

Jimi Hendrix was an inspiration. He had the power to bring people together through music. It's sad that he's not still with us to share his talent anymore.

Music is Awesome

I lurve Music!!

I started walking down the road the other day and something felt really strange. Usually, I put my earphones in and stroll along to an amazing solo or brilliant bassline, but this time I forgot my earphones. I'm not the type of tool to walk down the street blasting my tunes through the phones loudspeaker, so I suffered in silence. However, it got me thinking.........

I wake up to music playing as my alarm. I listen to music on the way to work. At work, I listen to music on the radio. On the way home, I listen to music. When I have a bath or shower, you guessed it, I listen to music. Nearly everywhere around me there is music and I thrive on listening to it.

If I have to drive to work without a radio (say if its broke), I end up tail gating and beeping my horn and calling every other driver a f*%#ing b@stard or something along those lines.

I know that the one thing I would take with me to a deserted island would be something related to music, probably a wind up DAB radio. I think, actually, i KNOW that without music permanantly, I would go INSANE!!!

Top bands/artists??

It's hard to determine my favorite band / artist and sometimes I think that its impossible to choose just one! I have a group of "favorites", that I regularly listen to but from time to time I have one band that I listen the shit out of.
I'm wondering whether you have a single favorite band / artist or whether you're like minded. I'd like to hear from you, about your most inspiring songs, bands, artists..........the list is endless, so just get commenting!

The Wanton Bishops

The Wanton Bishops are a two-piece blues and garage rock revival band from Beirut, Lebanon. The band is made up of Nader (vocals, harmonica, guitar, keyboards) and Eddy (guitar, backing vocals, banjo), who are joined on stage and in the studio by a hired drummer and a bassist.

Nader met Eddy in a blues bar in Beirut a couple of years ago. Well, technically, they meet outside the bar on the sidewalk in the middle of a fistfight. Luckily, they weren’t punching each other, and their friendship developed over cheap tequila. They eventually decided to form a band together.
Finding common ground between stompy swamp blues and rock riffs, between acoustic and electric sounds, between garage rock and the blues, that’s where the Wanton Bishops have found their voice, and that’s where they’re at their best. Actually, where they’re really at their best is live. But that’s not something you should be reading, that’s something you should experience for yourself.

Between Nader’s guttural voice and his wailing harmonica, and Eddy’s rhythmic riffs, between the stomping, and the strings snapping on abused guitars, you’ll understand that there’s something there in the rawness of it all.

On December 23rd 2012, The Wanton Bishops released their debut album “Sleep With The Lights On”

Heres a few of their songs.
